Synopsis
This is the story of a couple named Awali and Dadarao. Dadarao has served as sarpanch of the village for two terms. His entire existence revolves around politics. Awali, on the other hand, is a modest housewife who has completed her 12th grade schooling. Ordinary women frequently underestimate their own physical and intellectual skills. Our patriarchal society prevents women from realising their full potential. This is what Chanakya said: "A foolish person, a dog sleeping at someone else's door, and a woman-none of these should ever be awakened..." Awali's life revolves around her husband, son, and mother-in law. Dadarao believes she has ordinary intelligence; "she doesn't understand anything." Awali, on the other hand, participates in social activities. She manages her home while also contributing to the village and its developments. She supports the village's ladies in times of need. The elections are nearing, and Dadarao is convinced he will be elected for a third term. The government has decided that the village head (Sarpanch) will be directly elected by the electorate, with the Sarpanch seat in Dongav Boodruk Gram Panchayat reserved for OBC women. Dadarao reluctantly nominates Awali for the position, and she wins the election. Even after she becomes Sarpanch, Dadarao believes he will continue to control the local administration. However, Awali gradually realises her position. She begins to realise her own duties and, accidentally, takes over the Gram Panchayat's activities. This is the story of Dadarao's male ego and Awali's delicate balance of her home and community while managing both as a family. While managing her household, Awali gradually integrates into the village administration and establishes herself as the Sarpanch, and Dadarao, despite his stumbles and ego, eventually accepts Awali's position as Sarpanch. The story is the story of their Journey.
